Nach seinem höchst erfolgreichen Kurz-Gastspiel in FFM am Ende der vorletzten Saison sowie dem Meistertitel letztes Jahr mit Krefeld halte ich Butch Goring immer noch für einen guten Trainer. Soweit ich mich erinnern kann, hat er mit den Lions 7 von 10 Spielen gewonnen, und das mit einem wirklich miesen Team. Ich glaube, dass die Pinguine einfach den Verlust ihrer überragenden ersten Sturmreihe nicht verkraftet haben, auch wenn Goring dafür angeblich die Spieler seiner Wahl holen durfte. Ausserdem sind die Pinguine dieses Jahr wirklich die Gejagten, die wird kein Team unterschätzen (hoffentlich auch morgen nicht!).
Aber die Verantworlichen bei den Pinguinen werden sicher nicht so handeln wie die in Mannem, und dann heißt's vielleicht demnächst in der Krefelder Presse "Butch ist futsch!"...

Ich kann mich auch erinnern, dass es damals zumindest so durch die Presse ging, dass "Käpt'n Platte (Klaus Meine) & die Söhne des Fuhrunternehmers (die Schenker-Brüder)" dem Hockeyteam den Namen & das Logo unentgeltlich zu Verfügung gestellt haben, um den Eishockeysport in Hannover zu fördern. Sollte das den Tatsachen entsprechen, finde ich das Verhalten der Band, die vom "Wind Of Change"-Airplay & dem Verkauf ihrer alten Scheiben ziemlich gut leben dürfte, äußerst eklig. Ich mag weder die Hasselbachers noch diese publicity-bedürftigen Alt-Rocker besonders, aber allein der Zeitpunkt dieser Streitigkeiten- den Verein gibt's ja schon ein paar Jahre- lässt auf eine Aktion schliessen, die Meine & Co. angezettelt haben, um in die Schlagzeilen zurückzukehren. Ist ja auch PR-technisch clever, wenn man verlauten lässt, dass man die Knete sowieso spenden wolle... Ich habe mir schon haufenweise Basketball-Spiele angesehen, auch live in den Sporthallen, da ich nebenbei für eine Basketball-Mannschaft hier im Rhein-Main-Gebiet gearbeitet habe, und fand das zwar ganz o.k., aber nicht unbedingt so interessant wie das die Medien einem immer einreden wollen. Ich habe nichts dagegen, wenn in der Glotze Basketball läuft, nur ärgert mich der unverhältnismässige Hype, der um diese Sportart gemacht wird & dass andere Sportarten dafür auf der Strecke bleiben. Wenn man Eishockey (oder beispielsweise Baseball) mag, hat man bei unserem Massen-Fernsehen einfach die A....-Karte (oder hast Du was von den MLB-Play-Offs im Free-TV gesehen?), und das nervt! Deshalb habe ich mich sehr krass geäußert. Da gibt's nun zwei Sportsender, aber auf denen läuft ansonsten meistens Zeug wie Sumo, Autotests, Traktorrennen, Pseudo-Ninjas oder die siebenundzwanzigste Wiederholung eines 0:0-Rasenschachs, das kann ich auch beim "Blick über den Tellerrand" nicht gut finden!
