St. Louis, MO, July 23, 2002 - Senior Vice President and General Manager Larry Pleau announced today that the club has signed forward Jason Dawe. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Dawe, 29, spent last season with the Hartford Wolfpack of the AHL, collecting 65 points (28 goals, 37 assists). He finished third on the team in goals and assists, while skating in 79 games. Dawe has spent the previous three seasons in the New York Rangers organization, skating in three games with the Rangers, collecting one assist. The 5-10, 189 pound forward has notched 85 points (39 goals, 46 assists) along with 72 penalty minutes over the past two-and-half seasons with Hartford.
Dawe posted NHL-highs with 25 goals and 50 points during the 1995-96 season with Buffalo. The North York, Ontario native has appeared in 365 career NHL games, amassing 176 points (86 goals, 90 assists), along with 162 penalty minutes. Dawe was originally Buffalo's second round selection, 35th overall, in the 1991 Entry Draft.
