Hull: We won't listen to them

VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Brett Hull is peeved at Detroit's fans.
During Friday's 5-2 loss to Vancouver in Game 2 of the first-round playoff series, the fans at Joe Louis Arena booed or jeered the Red Wings at nearly every turn.
"That's disappointing," Hull, a future Hall of Famer, said Saturday. "Those are the people you need the most and ... expect to be with you. When they turn on you it's just kind of like, 'OK, we'll stick it up theirs.'
"I guess they can pay the money so they can do whatever they want," Hull added. "but as a group we're disappointed in that."
The Red Wings are down 2-0 in the series after losing the first two games at home. Game 3 is Sunday in Vancouver.
After Detroit fell behind early on Friday,
the crowd serenaded struggling goaltender Dominik Hasek with mock cheers after he made an easy save in the second period and later turned against the rest of the team by chanting "Shoot the puck! Shoot the puck!" because of the team's apparent desire for the perfect play.
After scoring 769 goals in the NHL, Hull didn't appreciate the crowd offering tips on how to create offense. He was even more upset to hear the fans getting on Hasek, a six-time Vezina Trophy winner and two-time league MVP.
"It's really disappointing especially when they get on Dom who has played so fantastic for them all year," Hull said. "... Hopefully we can come in and take a couple here and go back home ... and we won't listen to them then either."
