Robert Esche Honors His Brother and American Troops

Flyers goaltender Robert Esche is honoring his brother and American troops with a new redesigned goalie mask. Esche's younger brother, Henry, 22, is a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps and is currently believed to be somewhere in the Middle East with U.S. forces at war in Iraq.

The new design bears a picture of Henry dressed in his military dress uniform on the left side of the mask. The mask also features a red, white and blue Statue of Liberty on the right side. A picture of a bald eagle and the words, "God Bless America," are written above the cage. Beneath the cage on the chin portion of the mask, is the famous photo of American soldiers raising the U.S. flag at Iwa Jima.

"He is very patriotic and he's happy doing what he is doing, " Esche said of his little brother. "There is nothing we can control other than I am proud of him, as are my parents and sister. I'm really proud of him."

Was könntest Du dafür wenn Du in der Army wärst, und Dein Präsident Dich runter schicken würde?? Nein sagen?? Der muß da runter, ob er will oder nicht!!

Dafür ist diese Huldigung gedacht, Du interpretierst das etwas falsch!!

Er will damit nicht den Krieg rechtfertigen, sondern eine Homage an seinen Bruder geben!!

ich verstehe seine beweggründe sehr gut, aber einen weisskopfseeadler mit dem spruch GOD BLESS AMERICA ... naja .. das gilt NICHT nur für seinen bruder .. sondern für das GANZE land .. inkl. PRÄSIDENT!

wie gesagt ... meine meinung ... eine kritische bemerkung wäre sehr angebrahct gewesen ... god bless our troops ... mit einem "friedenssatz" dazu hätte ich GUT gefunden .. aber nicht diesen heroischen patriotismus ...
