Flyers Finish Preseason With 3-2 Win
The Flyers closed out their preseason schedule with a 3-2 victory over the Washington Capitals Saturday afternoon.
Forward Donald Brashear led the way with a pair of goals and Michal Handzus scored his third goal of the preseason.
Brashear got the Flyers on the scoreboard board late in the first period, picking up a loose puck off of a faceoff and his pass deflected off a Capitals defenseman and into the net.
Midway through the second period, Brashear followed up his own wrist shot to give the Flyers the decisive goal.
Coach Ken Hitchcock has been happy with Brashear’s preseason, “I think he has been stereotyped, that he was a certain type. But, he has better hands than people think, he shoots the puck so well, (has a) great release and has this intensity to put it in.”
Mark Recchi who was sidelined with a knee injury saw his first action of the preseason and contributed with an assist.
Robert Esche went the whole way in net for the Flyers to earn the win.
Following Saturday’s game, the Flyers flew to Banff, Alberta to prepare for their regular season opener against the Edmonton Oilers.

Rock on,
and on, and on...Vielleicht hab ich 'nen Stock im Arsch und führ 'nen Spießerleben.
Doch mein Zeige- und dein Mittelfinger würden Peace ergeben.
