FLAMES TO SHOP CONROY?

NEW YORK POST: Larry Brooks reported on Sunday the Calgary Flames are planning to strip forward Craig Conroy of the team captaincy and award it to Chris Drury. Brooks believes the Flames are doing this in preparation of shopping Conroy over the summer.

Spector's Note: Funny how the hockey-mad media of Calgary never picked up on this tidbit, eh? Amazing how a reporter way out in New York City scooped the local press on this one, isn't it?

Flames sign newly acquired C Reinprecht

CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) - The Calgary Flames signed center Steve Reinprecht on Wednesday, less than two weeks after acquiring him from the Buffalo Sabres as part of a three-team trade.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Reinprecht, 27, is coming off the best season of his three-year career. He collected 18 goals and 33 assists in 77 games with the Colorado Avalanche, who paid him $500,000.
Calgary acquired the former University of Wisconsin standout with defenseman Rhett Warrener on July 3 for centers Steve Begin and Chris Drury.
The Flames also announced the signing of defenseman Roman Rozakov, a 1999 fourth-round draft pick who had one goal in 21 games last season with Lada Togliatti and Severstal Cherepovets of the Russian Elite League.

Flames sign Josh Green

Calgary, AB - Calgary Flames General Manager & Head Coach Darryl Sutter announced today the signing of left winger Josh Green. As per club policy, the terms and conditions of the deal were not disclosed.
Josh Green, appeared in his fifth NHL season during the 2002-03 campaign playing with the Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers and the Washington Capitals.
In 45 games this past season Green recorded five points (1 goal, 4 assists) and 21 penalty minutes. In 182 NHL career games with the Los Angeles Kings, New York Islanders, Oilers, Rangers and Capitals the 6'4" 225 lbs. native of Camrose, Alberta has recorded 50 points (24 goals, 26 assists) and 122 penalty minutes.

The 25 year-old Green was the Kings first choice, 30th overall, in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft.
