2003 Stanley Cup Final game-worn jerseys now available

The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, the Cinderella story of the 2003 Stanley Cup Playoffs, have reached the Stanley Cup Final for the first time in their 10-year history. Beginning immediately, collectors may reserve the Stanley Cup Final jerseys that will be worn by all the Ducks stars, including Jean-Sebastien Giguere, Paul Kariya, Steve Rucchin, Keith Carney, Petr Sykora and Steve Thomas.

These jerseys are one-of-a-kind. Only one home and one road jersey with the Stanley Cup Final patch will be available for each player, so the supply of these historic reminders of the Mighty Ducks' best-ever season is extremely limited. Information regarding the availability of the 2002-03 Eastern Conference champion's Stanley Cup game-worn jerseys will be announced after the conclusion of the Eastern Conference Final between the Ottawa Senators and New Jersey Devils.

There are 21 NHL teams currently participating in the 2002-03 NHL-MGG Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program. In the first eight months of the program's existence, more than 3,000 game-worn jerseys have been sold to thousands of collectors in the United States, Canada, Australia, England, Finland, France, Germany, Japan, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and the Netherlands.

The Mighty Ducks will be wearing two new sets of home and two new sets of road jerseys during the Stanley Cup Final. A 2003 Stanley Cup Final patch will be sewn onto each jersey, an NHL tradition that began in 1989. The first set of home and road jerseys, the ones that are available now to collectors through the NHL-MGG Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program, will be worn in the Final until one team has reached three victories. Once one team has three victories in the Finals and is in position to clinch the Stanley Cup, the teams will switch to a second set of jerseys. This set will remain the property of the teams, for their non-commercial use.

NHL and MGG representatives will be in attendance at each game of the Stanley Cup Final to authenticate the serial numbers on the unique counterfeit-proof inventory tags sewn into every game-worn jersey distributed through the NHL-MGG Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program.
