Leafs captain Mats Sundin rules himself out of Game 7 against Ottawa
TORONTO (AP) - Captain Mats Sundin was ruled out of the Toronto Maple Leafs' Game 7 against the Ottawa Senators after taking part in the morning skate Tuesday.
"Mats is not playing," team spokesman Pat Park said.
Sundin said Monday he would meet with doctors before determining if his broken left wrist could hold up for Tuesday night's playoff game.
"The way it feels on the ice, I probably won't play," he said Monday.
Sundin broke his wrist when struck by a puck on April 18 in the first period of Toronto's first playoff game against the New York Islanders.
The cast Sundin was wearing was removed last week, and he tried stickhandling and shooting Saturday. In practice Monday, he could only direct the puck weakly because he still does not have full flexibility.
